About Me

Individual, Couples & Family Therapy

Be Comfortable.

There’s hope! You’re taking the most important step by looking for a therapy provider. I believe everyone can look inward and discover what they need. I will offer empathy, encouragement, and tools to identify where you want to go next.

Therapy services are provided in my cozy office in Prairie Village, Kansas, or via telehealth to clients in Kansas and Missouri.

Ally Bittner, MS, LMFT

My Philosophy

My approach is relationship and insight led, using humor and compassion to create new ways of being for my clients. My focus as a practitioner is to help clients build attachment skills and feel seen, safe and soothed as they do the brave work of healing and growing.

I use evidence-based practices for couples such as Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) and the Gottman method, both of which help couples get to the core of their issues and understand their negative patterns to find healing and connection.

I treat trauma, and am EMDR trained. EMDR is a recognized tool for treating trauma and getting unstuck from negative thoughts and beliefs. For more information on this therapy, click here.

I am a member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy and and Delta Kappa International Marriage and Family Therapy Honors Society. I welcome individuals of all backgrounds, groups, and cultures.

My Interests

Outside of my practice, I am a wife with a supportive partner that pushes and encourages me, as well as Mom of two elementary-aged kids with vibrant imaginations that consistently challenge and inform all I think I know about parenting.

I am moved by music, cooking and reading, especially when it’s on the beach under an umbrella.

Following my heart into this career is the greatest gift I ever gave myself, and it feels like I have been listening to other people’s stories since I was a child. It’s a great privilege to bear witness now to all of you.

I’m an out-of-network provider for most insurance plans, and can provide you paperwork for reimbursement. If you are interested in this option, please ask your insurance provider for information about your out-of-network mental health benefits.

Each case is different, but I like to begin by meeting weekly or every other week. As you make progress, we’ll discuss moving toward bi-weekly or monthly appointments, until you feel you’ve made sufficient desired growth. Typically, clients move towards maintenance sessions as needed.

I see clients in office:
Tuesdays 11 am- 2 pm
Wednesdays 3 pm – 7pm and
Thursdays 2pm – 6pm.

Teletherapy appointments are offered during those times and other select times Monday and Friday.

  • 50-minute session fee: $150
  • 75-minute session fee: $165
  • 90-minute session fee: $180
  • EMDR Services: Charged at the session rate

I do! For some clients, teletherapy appointments are the most efficient way to have sessions. It works nicely for most individuals, but is a little more complicated for couples and families, so advance planning is helpful to figure out logistics.

Cancellations require 24-hour notice. If less than 24-hour notice is given, you will be responsible for the entire fee. This is necessary because a time commitment is made and held exclusively for you.

In addition to helping with the problems you’re struggling with, therapy can provide you with more insight and awareness. Although it can sometimes feel scary to take the first step to reach out, reducing your symptoms and learning to cope in healthier ways can make doing so more than worthwhile. The best way to know if we’re a fit is to call and schedule.
